I have been using the Fender Passport P10 to perform my show in the street for the last few years. Recently, the battery life diminished and I began looking for a replacement battery. This search proved futile in Chile. So with the help of DreamLine, an electronics shop in Santiago (Coquimbo 250 http://www.dreamline.cl) we opened up the casing, cut away some plastic (which previously allowed a space for storing cables, ipod, etc), and fitted a larger 12V 5Ah battery, soldering some new cables to connect the battery. (losing the storage space). It took less that hour and now the Fender Passport P10 operates with a standard, easy to find battery! If you too are the owner of a P10, this is one solution if your battery has reached its end. For those looking to buy a portable speaker, I suggest paying close attention to the battery it uses and ensuring that battery is readily available before investing in the amp! Happy Busking …
