The Traffic Light Tonight

I rode lightly down providencia avenue filtering my way through an hourglass of vehicles. Alongside the river, next to the traffic light, there are two strong posts. One, a cement post, the other a steel lampost. I tie up the rope, change my shoes, and jump a little on the spot. Already at the traffic light, there are a couple of guys handing out advertising, and an injured person, with one crutch, dusty clothes, and a worn out face. “I am going to perform a little circus”. The injured person nods, turns round, and trudges down the spaces between the cars stopping at each window staring needy at the drivers. I hop up onto the rope, and instantly feel four or five smiles radiating through windshields. I acknowledge them and then begin to walk. I pretend to fall to the left, I pretend to fall to the right, I pretend to fall forwards, and then i salute the cars. I dance backwards, with my toes pointing out to the sides, i can´t contain the smile it provokes. I arrive at the other end of the rope. Slowly and steadily, i lower my bum towards the rope. I ensure the rope is running under my coccyx and i extend my leg forward and hook my foot around the rope. I then lie back, look up to the cars, and wave to the child looking over his mums shoulder from the back seat. Mouth agape. I spring back up to my feet. And like a fencer, i slide three passes forward, drop down to my knee, blow a kiss and share it with all the cars, lift myself back up, and explode a star shape pose, before jumping down. I walk into the middle of the road. Blow a kiss with both hands to all the vehicles, and remain a few seconds, feet planted, chest open, and eyes twinkling, as people wind their windows down, and raise their hands with coins. The men handing out advertisements accompany a motorcyclist in an applause. I feel love, unity and abundance.
